Settling an estate is a complicated job that arrives at the worst possible time. Estate Made Clear explains it in plain English — what to do when someone dies and how an estate actually gets settled — what's urgent, what can wait, and what you can safely do yourself.

What we promise

1. We tell you when you don't need to pay anyone. Every state has a simplified path for small estates, and many families qualify. If that's you, we say so plainly — even though it earns us nothing.
2. We are not a law firm, and nothing here is legal advice. We explain how the process works; for decisions about a specific estate, the answer is a probate attorney licensed in the decedent's state, and we say that wherever it matters.
3. No pressure, ever. You will not find countdown timers, "act now" buttons, or urgency of any kind here. Estates take months; our job is to make the months understandable.
4. Things we will never promote: inheritance or probate "advances" (high-cost credit dressed as help), funeral or cremation lead-generation aimed at the newly bereaved, paid document-retrieval services (death certificates come from official channels for a small fee — we link you there), paid "unclaimed property finders" (state sites are free), and unvetted "cash for your house" buyers. When we cover selling an inherited home, licensed agent-matching comes first.

How we make money
